Brief Update

I know I have not been blogging consistently but I've been kinda caught up with some stuff. Lets see, to briefly update, here's wha's been happening.

Firstly, I found out that I've graduated with a Diploma in Law from KDU. Yes, that would also mean that I have passed all my papers and now, transferring credits over to the University of Tasmania. And yes, that also means I got accepted into the uni. So, YAY! So now I have a diploma so that makes me a diplomat! They even have a convocation ceremony and stuff end of August. Mom's all ecstatic.

Next, my workout has finally paid off when I met up with some of my classmates whom I've not seen in months since my term ended and they noticed how big I've gotten! Double yay! My vigorous routine certainly did a good job. I feel so good about myself :)

My term for UTAS with KDU starts on the 27th August and that means I have about a month odd to kill. Damn. Anyone wanna play squash or badminton? :D

No, She's Not My Daughter

Something interesting happened today at lunch.

I was out with mom and my neighbour's kid, Gabby (short for Gabrielle) and mom wanted to check out a few furniture shops for a chest of drawers. For a kid who's almost 3 years old, she's one very intelligent kid with a wide range of vocabulary for that age. You cannot lie to her because she will call your bluff and argue with you. Yes, argue.

One time, my dad told her that she was being unreasonable and she asked him what "unreasonable" meant and started debating and trying to have her way. Smart kid. She also figured out my mom's name on her own. She used to call my mom "aunty". But after hearing her grandmom calling my mom by name, she picked it up and by associating the name to the person, she started calling my mom "aunty Margaret". All of us were quite shocked.

Today I learnt that she knew the words to that old song, "When I Was Young". All of it. That was the first surprise. The second was when I had Mika's album playing in the car and she was singing to his songs. Turns out, her dad has the same album in his car and she was happily singing away to "Grace Kelly", "Lollipop" and "My Interpretation". Sure, she didn't exactly pronounce the words coherently but for a kid that age to recognise the songs AND the title, it's quite amazing.

So after visiting the furniture shop, we decided to have lunch at Hup Soon. We ordered our food and Lil Gabby was amusing herself by singing and telling us LOTS of stories like who Harry Potter's wife was and what happened to her and stuff. Of course, this is not unaccompanied by shrieks of laughter cos she finds herself so amusing. She's absolutely adorable.

My Yong Tau Foo order finally came and with a shocked expression, the guys asked me, "Your daughter ah?!". I almost choked and explained to him that Gabby is my neighbour's kid and we were just taking her out on a ride. After looking at the scenario closely, it DID look like Gabby was my daughter and my mom was her grandmother. Haha it was hilarious. Of course, inquisitive Gabby kept asking me what the guy asked and how come she's not my daughter -.-"

As cute and adorable as she is, she can be a HANDFUL. Really. She's quite loud and rough. Very un-girly. She would bump her head and laugh (aka shriek) out loud because it is most amusing for her.

And here's a picture of the rascal:

She's damn cute but don't let it fool you cos you're in for a world of surprises! :D

I'm Really Sick

Great. After popping many Panadols, my fever and flu are still not gone. And I have a freaking paper tomorrow morning at 10am. How on earth am I going to pull thru this one?

Been trying to study for the life of me but it's difficult when you're giddy and trying to remember cases. This really sucks. And there's no way I can postpone the exam. Plus, I'd rather get this over and done with.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargghhhh! Poo...

Done!

After a few hours of tweaking and editting here and there, my blog seems to be what it was before the codes got messed up. I even got my galleries and links to other blogs up again.

Took me awhile but managed to fix as much as I could. If your link was previously in my abe-sterians list and it isn't now, let me know and I'll add you.

Also, my phone's screwing up much and I'm planning to get a new phone and this time, it will be a Sony Ericsson walkman edition. Stupid Nokias are screwing way too often. If all goes well ($$-wise), I should get my new phone by the end of the week. So if you don't get a reply from  me, chances are my phone ate your message / missed call.

Now back to trying to study thru the massive headache and spinning my head has been going through the past few days.

Sick

Sorry for the long absence.

Didn't feel like blogging much when most of my codes got erased and stupid Blogger did not reply my mail about this problem. Bodoh.

A lot has happened during the past 1 week plus but I will get down to updating if I feel like it :p

Plus, my re-sit's tomorrow and I've yet to finish up on my reading and stuff. To make matters worse, I'm not feeling well for the past few days. Feels like I'm coming down with the flu. Sucks.

I managed to find a copy of my template somewhere on my comp and inserted them back but a lot are still missing from what it was before. Will sort that out soon.

Shit!!

Oh no oh no oh no!!!

If you noticed, the "june babies" portion all the way down is empty. All I did was editted the colour and inserted the strike code as I normally do when the said birthdays are over.

When I published it, it was empty. When I checked the codes, everything below it have been erased! Wtf?! I'm freaking frustrated because I made no backup for it!

I've sent a ticket to their support team and I hope they can restore my codes. I'm sure (rather, hoping like mad) that they have it stored in their database somewhere.

I'm so sad right now :(

Nippley Man I Met, Ate My Motorboat

OMFGROFLMFAOLOL!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha! Hilarious shit.

He looks like he smothered his face with kunyit (tumeric) powder and put on fangs that you get from Ding Dang to look like a zombie! Talk about no budget make-up crew haha!

So-called Productive Day

The day went pretty well. I thought it was going to be another non-productive day filled with boredom.

However, I had to head down to Cineleisure to get tickets for my parents and their 2 friends for Transformers this Thursday. Yeah, I made them agree to watch it >:)

While I was there, the sucky part was that I could not purchase the tickets in advance for Thursday cos it has not been "scheduled". Wtf? That's just silly. You would think Cineleisure wouldn't be that lame. Hell, you can book at GSC a month in advance. Pffft!

So yeah, looks like I'll be heading over tomorrow again to get them. I left Cineleisure and contemplated to stop by GSC, 1 Utama to get the tickets but was already on the road back to PJ so, malas. I'm trying to book the tickets online now and even that is hopeless. Grrr.

Stopped by KDU to check dates for my re-sit and my Semester 5 UTAS program term. My re-sit is due on next Friday, 20th July. Ok lah still got time to study :p

But for my UTAS term, I start on the 27th August! Omg that's like more than a month away. I'm so going to need a friggin' hobby -___-"

Got the relevant info and made my way to pick Tiny up for lunch. Had lunch and went home and baked more in the heat.

For dinner, mom made a rather interesting dish - Fried Fettucine with Lamb - and it was awesome. Wanted to be greedy and gobble up the whole thing but too bad the rest of my family would starve for the night then. I wanted to take a pic but my hunger got the better of me and so I didn't :p

And now to make wax out of my fats that have melted in this heat.

Apostasy

What I'm about to post can or may be uncomfortable for some but this was aired recently on Al-Jazeera on Astro. Some of you may have heard or watched it yourselves and hence, may have a thing or two to say.

I personally found this coverage to be a good one and one that should be watched by fellow Malaysians. I do not in any way hate Muslims or the religion but it is sadly a shame that Malaysia is moving far from a desired democratic country.

Islam here in Malaysia is often used as a means of political gains and not so much as to the values of the religion itself. I feel that the tender teachings of Islam has been in turned used as wheels in our country's political vehicle.

50 years of independence indeed.

To comment on what I've watched via youtube, it is utterly inhumane to separate a young child from her parents simply because of "religion". It's stupid and cruel.

Watch it and you be the judge.

Twenty One

The party last night at Twenty One was a total blast and needless to say, we had shit loads of fun. Had quite a fair bit to drink but surprisingly, I woke up with very little hangover. That's good news cos I hate the feeling of wanting to puke for an entire day.

My bro and I arrived early at Twenty One and met Steph's friends, Azrul and Ai Ling. The place is actually quite nice. From the moment we stepped in, I noticed the cold cement steps at the entrance and kept thinking how Xavie is gonna love the place. That woman has a fetish for cold industrial designs.

Steph arrives and the party kicked into gear and next thing I knew, everyone's having a jolly good time. The Fang siblings (Steph's brother and sisters) were there too! It was definitely a pleasant surprise to see them considering how long I've not met them.

As the night progressed, more drinks were served and more people were getting drunk - especially the birthday girl. Damien got Steph a flaming lamborghini (the classic birthday drink) and she downed it like a lil soldier. Not bad for a beer girl :P

After much fun, we headed over to Cynna to meet up with other people but alas, after being in that place for like 10-15 minutes, the lights came on and the music stopped playing. Poo. We then headed over to Bar Blond to meet up with more people. Lepakked there for a fair bit and had lil more beers before heading for home. By this time, my throat's all sore from screaming and yelling and it has been reduced to what I'd like to think, husky and sexy haha!

Got home at about 4.30AM this morning and this is definitely a record for me. I'm usually back home by 3AM and this would be the longest I've stayed out for a party.

This brings us to now. Feeling a bit groggy but not too bad. Nothing a good workout can't fix! I was looking forward for squash today but just found out that that's not gonna happen :(

Instead, we might be just going for our walk/jog in TTDI if it doesn't rain. The weather does seem threatening to just piss that plan to hell. Bah.

Ps: I've uploaded the photos from last night onto my Picasa web album. Click the link on the sidebar to view -->

777

Ah today's the day of triple 7 - 7th July 2007. Don't know what the big deal is since it's just the same digits in a date. For me, today's the day with many events.

Anyways, today's also the day where my godsis Lenny got married (registered) to her long-time boyfriend, Cristano. It's so odd to see a girl whom I've known for the past 23 years. Her mom used to babysit my bro and I when we were kids and now she's all grown up and married.

Cristano is an old friend during my active days in church. A long time has past and now getting married. It's pretty mind-blowing. They've been dating for almost 10 years now and the deal is sealed with marriage. It was just a matter of time :)

Nonetheless, a hearty congratulations to them for such a big step in their lives!

Tonight, we'll be celebrating Steph's birthday at 21 in Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang since her actual birthday falls on a Monday. I'm pretty sure tonight's going to be a blast.

Also, Liquid Bar sent me an invitation for their 9th anniversary party tonight. So many events, so little energy / time. I would have to give LQ a skip cos of Steph's party and I'm sure that's going to be more fun since everyone's gonna be there.

Now, as I enjoy feeling my head bake from the heat wave, I'm gonna try and chill. Bloody hot.

Bittersweet

After months of waiting and anticipation, good news greeted me today - I got accepted into Year 3 of the University of Tasmania (UTAS) program at KDU. I'm quite excited, really. Now I can look forward and plan to fly off in July 2008. So yay me!

Now I have to prepare for a re-sit for a subject this month. Just found out that re-sits will commence on the 16th (Monday) itself. Should last for a week. Finally, things are looking up for me.

As great as the news was, bad news accompanied it - my classmate's mom passed away yesterday morning. The news was really shocking considering that her mom would just turn 50 this year. Sad, just sad. My thoughts are with them.

My day was basically filled with mixed emotions. Happiness and at the same time sad for my friend. Sometimes life is just super unpredictable.

There were plans to attend a farewell party at the Hard Rock Cafe, KL organised by the Law Society of my college for those who are due to fly to UK this August / September but most of us will not be attending out of respect for our friend. Sigh. I just hope she's holding up well and taking it well.

Well, as bittersweet the news were, life goes on.

Since I'm rambling, I'm dying from the heat wave we've been having. My face feels like its about to be burnt to a crisp. Gaah! Cold showers don't seem to work well with this heat.

I've Been Apple-d!

Aku sudah di-Apple-kan!

For Mac users, I'm sure you have come across this. Me, being an uncool regular Windows user, have discovered Safari for Windows! It's the browser Maccies use and it's really awesome. Much better than that lame ass Internet Explorer which lags at every click of the mouse.

Safari has a clean interface so you focus more on the content rather than huge buttons like IE. It has a cool slick metallic design that's easy on the eyes and super user friendly. It has drag and drop features for your bookmarks. You can customise the buttons and layouts and I think they have skins to decorate it to suit your taste.

It takes a while to get use to its interface but it won't take long before you start wanting to tweak it and fiddle with everything and break it like me.

While we're on the subject of Apple products, I WANT AN iPhone! It's sooo pretty and cool. And I'd like to be pretty and cool too haha :p

See how pretty they are? It's all-in-one much like the coffee (or tea) we drink every morning. I want one!!! I want to talk, watch movies, play music, find my way around KL with its GPS feature, take down notes and ultimately be cooler than everyone else!

I'm sure the price is pretty and cool to match too. If purchased via their website, its $499.00 (approx. RM1,713.00) for 4GB space and $599.00 (approx. RM2,057) for 8GB. Hmm, it's cheaper than a freaking Nokia N-series phone! And as we know, Nokia phones tend to screw up a lot (what to expect? They used to make shoes).

Christmas is coming and I'll still be around to celebrate my birthday next year (my birth date's at the top right below my gorgeous pic ;p) so save up haha!

Transformers

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

Josh and I caught the late Transformers screening at Cineleisure last night thanks to Kel Li's friends who had 2 extra tickets for the movie.

Although we had to wait a fair deal before the movie, the movie was definitely worth the wait! Transfomers is now my favourite movie of all time. It was an awesome experience to watch the movie. It is the BEST! It was so good, I cried when they introduced Optimus Prime. Omg he rocks!

It is overwhelming to see a movie that was once almost every child's childhood cartoon series realised into a full scale live production coupled with OMFG-AWESOME-SHIT-SPECIAL-EFFECTS. I must say that it is the most successful cartoon franchise to be made into a movie. The special effects to make the vehicles transform is just MIND BLOWING and fuck it was done perfectly.

Remember the sound they make when transforming in the cartoon series? Well, it was included in the movie and man it worked out perfectly. Didn't think it would at first but it did.

Needless to say, Josh and I left Cineleisure with looks of awe and amazement. It's just too good.

You don't have to be a Transformers fan to be blown away by this movie. I'm one so I may be biased but I don't care. As a little kid, I've enjoyed watching Autobots trashing the Decepticons. Of course, in the cartoon series, the Decepticons were the typical stupid bad-guy that often loses because ultimately good triumphs over evil. However, in the movie, I was pretty shocked to see how evil and cruel the Decepticons can be.

The movie kept in line with the cartoon series with its humour and style of dialogue. Yes, the movie is also hilarious with intelligent script and funny Non-Biological Extraterrestrial (NBE) antics.

Bottomline is, WATCH IT! This is the first time a movie that really REALLY lived up to its hype. Not one of those Pirates of the Carribean hype that just sucked after watching it.

My bro is a bigger Transformer fan than I am and if I can cry (or even had an erection watching the show), God knows how he's going to react!

Watch it! Watch it! Watch it!

I cannot stress enough how much you guys need to watch this if you haven't already!!
"Autobots, roll out!"
PS: To all Transformers fans, you will KNOW it's Optimus Prime ;)
