I'm Cynical And Loving It!

wonder why tag-board always has a problem of loading.

another independence day has come and gone. in the next 3 years, malaysia will be half a century old and i would've graduated (hopefully); that is if i pass my exams all in one sitting. really really hope i do. damn, looks like i gotta cramp all them law facts into my small lil brain.

hmm.. about the rave in genting.. the music was loud, wild and hardcore. weather was good. cooling and at certain times, numbing. the wind was wild and it got colder and colder. overall, it was an awesome rave. just that the citizens of Jeng Central decided to invade genting. girls with feather boas and knee high boots with ugly striped stockings were parading around the premises of starbucks coffee looking like RM2.50 A Mei gone wrong. their necks were lighted up by colourful handphone diods as their other species contacted them. this is evident since the incessant annoying polyphonic ringtones that echoed the tunes of "aiyai ee yai, you're my little butterfly" kept going off every 5 minutes or so.

their male counterpart, the ah bengs were busy getting themselves drunk and puking all over themselves. ofcourse, vocal cords decibels were supernaturally higher than normal; almost like a banshee with a toilet plunger up the ass. they can be identified by the combed back blonde wires for hair and the black RM65.89 sungei wang polyester trenchcoat. seriously, i have no idea where these things (i call them things because i cant quite place them has homosapiens just yet) come from and what their purpose in life is. i came up with various theories that their goals in life can vary from owning a aeroplane-turned-car with a loud car sound system with decibels high enough to shatter an old lady's hearing aid; to having the ugliest wardrobe in the history of mankind and last but not least, having the blondest hair even a poor albino radioactive retarded rat couldnt compare.

yes, i have issues with them.

oh back to the rave. it was great. the people werent great. apart from the puke and stupidity that was spinning way out of control, it was alright.

pics of the rave can be found in my photo album.

HAPPY 47TH INDEPENDENCE DAY, MALAYSIA!

Wishing all fellow Malaysians a happy independence day!

The Bitch Is Back!

yup.. i'm back! independance was awesome.. took some pics which i will soon be uploaded. just one thing, genting highlands has suddenly been invaded by The Great Republic of Ah Bengs & Ah Lians. never have i seen such vast amounts of them in my lifetime.. they were all hanging around first world hotel dressed as ugly as possible with atrocious trenchcoats and horrendous shoes. some guy puked in the hotel lobby which, i found this to be highly gross since the puke blew up in his face as he attempted to cover his ugly face with his hands. or was he trying to hold the puke in his hands so it wont dirty the lobby floor? no difference anyway. at least the puke made his clothes look better with additional colouring and "food prints" on his crapped up white tight pants and sickening looking shoes. i'm so cynical. i love myself. more updates of the rave and sarcastic remarks to come! watch this space.

Saturday, August 28, 2004

i'm sitting here in front of my pc waiting for my baby to come pick me up so we can be on our way to genting for the party. .... i'm all packed and still waiting lol! see you party ppl up there tonight!

hey-ho we're heading to genting-o for independance tomorrow! wheeee!

GERS? WHAT THE FUCK?

was just checking some posts on multiply.com and i discovered and theres a new type of abbreviation used: ger/s = girl/s

like, whats up with that? its bad enough we have to deal with words like tok, skool, boiz and so on. now we have GER/S? i feel that its just plain stupid to abbreviate words that are naturally already short. its different if the word is long and takes too long of a time to type/write. what, are we getting lazier? we even abbreviate TWO letter words like "be" to "b". are we really saving that much of energy by reducing one alphabet? seriously folks.. i think the culture of the internet is getting to us and soon enough, we'll all be dumb fucks. if u hv ne ting 2 say, liv a msg in d commts. WOOO!! i saved like, SO MUCH EVERGY AND TIME reducing the alphabets. now i can use these saved up energy to type more abbreviated crap.

ooh ooh!! HALOSCAN decides to fuck up today! WHEEE!

Interesting Links

blogspot is REALLY testing my patience. i keep getting this stupid fucked up 'document contains no data' pop up motherfucking biatch thinga majigga. and that happens AFTER i click 'publish post'. so what do i do? i check to see if it was published on a different window. did it? NOPE. so i click back on my dashboard.. and LO AND BEHOLD! everything that i typed is ALL GONE! fucking shit.

like i was fucking saying before, i got pre-occupied with some interesting links that left me with aching sides. do take a look at the fucking links that i posted before blogspot decided to fuck everything up for me. do take the fucking time to visit the sites that i iniatially posted before blogspot fucked everything up for me. yes, i'm aware that i'm fucking repeating myself.

Chinese United

its so funny, i had to post it. thanks to steph.

Today, in Malaysia, there is no longer just the Chinese. Along the way, the Chinese people divided beyond dialects and religious faith. We now have denomination within the Chinese. The major three groups are Regular, Cina, and Ah Beng.

The Regular group is the minority, making up less than 20% of the Chinese people. This group has the following characteristics:

1. Speaks English as the first language.

2. Thinks the world owes them a living.

3. Uses the Internet more than the other two groups combined.

4. Loves the iPod and/or IKEA.

5. Watches one or more of the following TV series: "Sex And The City", "Friends", or "CSI."

6. Thinks that the Regular group is way larger than it is and makes fun of the other groups, particularly the Ah Beng group. Why? Because it's fun.

Recent studies have also shown that there is a growing splinter group within the Regular group known as the CPWTTANC group. (CPWTTANC is short for Chinese People Who Think They Are Not Chinese.) This growing subgroup are considered elitist by some and are found making statements like "I wish I were in the U.S." or "This never happened when I was studying in Australia." They also tend to speak with an unidentifiable accent. The women may also prefer to date white men from foreign countries with the excuse that local men just "don't understand me" and have the secret desire to be taken away to the U.S. to live in a sitcom.

The second Chinese group, Cina make up approximately 55% of the Chinese community. (Cina is derived from the Malay word Cina which means Chinese and is pronounced "chee-na". And you will have to say it in a condescending tone for effect.) This group is considered mainstream and contribute to the numbers that reflect development in the country. They are the masses in context of the Chinese community. In other words, if you want to sell something to the masses of Chinese people, the Cina is it.

The Cina are identified by the following traits:

1. Speaks Mandarin or Cantonese as the first language.

2. Generally quiet, self-effacing, and obliging but are actually shrewd and calculative.

3. Sees Taiwan as the place to be.

4. More likely to forward chain email to people in their address book.

5. Goes to Halo Café or Wow Wow Café BY CHOICE at least three times a year.

6. Has Astro hardwired to Wah Lai Toi.

7. Calls a music video an MTV instead of music video.

8. Knows all the dim sum dishes by name.

9. Seventy percent of lighting at home generated by flourescent lights.

The last group are known as the Ah Bengs . This term was probably made up by the Regulars in the early 80s during the cultural invasion that saw the mass import of music and movies from countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, and to some extent, Japan. This phenomenon saw the more open-minded and runaway members of the Cina group defect into Ah Bengs and its feminine equivalent, Ah Lian. They just took their Alan Tam and Anita Mui a little too seriously. Perhaps the most made-fun-of group not only by its own Chinese people but by people of other races, the Ah Bengs are often seen as people living on the edge and have more flamboyant tastes. One may identify the Ah Beng by these tell-tale signs:

1. Built-in visual self-defense mechanism that keeps people away from them.

2. Have enough amplifiers in their one car to power speakers for six cars.

3. Hair not in their original colour.

4. Volume of voice is automatically five decibels higher than everyone else.

5. Excessive use of the phrase "Kan Ni Na Bu Ciao Chee Bai". (Although, to be fair, some members of the Regular group have been reported to use the phrase on a daily basis as well.)

6. Once a fan of one of the following groups: Vengaboys, Dr Bombay, Aqua, or the Cheeky Girls.

7. Their Proton car does not look like a Proton car due to modifications.

8. For the Ah Lians, have at least one bag fashioned after a furry animal complete with the head.

And So It Begins

i went to kdu this morning with nani and her boyfriend, naren and i collected my timetable for the new semester. to my dismay, i found out that classes are EVERYDAY and packed with classes starting from 8 inthe freaking morning on wednesdays and fridays. monday's class must be the worst.. its practically a working time - 9am - 5pm. after getting the timetable and ranting to my classmate, tamara, we went to seek the counsellor so nani could get the details of the fees etc.. we're gonna be classmates! yay! guess thats my only consolation.. no doubt that i do wanna start my classes soon cos i'm excited and all.. but the thought of waking up so god damn early is just bumming me out already.. to make matters worst, the subject isnt one with enthusiasm.. its constitutional law for pete's sake and for BOTH 8am classes.. GODSVERDOMME! *grumble grumble*

well, at least tomorrow i'll be able to see my baby cos he's gonna be arriving at 1:30pm and hopefully i'll be the one picking him up from the airport.. i miss him so much.. my life for the past one week has been a friggin' drag.. plus, last saturday, i was all home alone.. parents were outstation and bro stayed over at the girlfriend's house leaving me to sleep alone in the house.. i wished so badly that shai was around.. no doubt, steph, nani and naren came to my aid to layan my boredom and my crap and managed to take my mind off missing him for awhile.. but after they leave, its back to square one. ooh i watched 13 going 30 tho.. its a cool fairytale sorta movie.. one that requires you to leave out logic altogether.. for those who havent watched, do watch it.. its pretty interesting.. =)

Sad news for Rydee fans

last night, rydee got voted off malaysian idol and i sure am shocked to hear the news.. i totally forgot all about the result show and i checked the website (found under my links section) and found out the saddening news.. victor should've been voted off! what, the entire penang island is voting for that fuck crap excuse of a singer? aaaaarrggggggghhhhhhh!! i just dont believe it! some penangites might dislike me but hey, lets face it.. rydee is definitely a much better singer than he is.. vote for talent, people!

last night, had a wonderful barbecue at xavie's place by the pool side.. click the link to view the pictures. met all of xavie's friends from miri.. it was a great party and i had loads of fun plus the barbecue pit was nicely situated under a pondok WITH fan so it wasnt too warm to hang out..

in 2 days time, shai will come back and i'm just anxiously awaiting his arrival.. miss him so much.. thank god the long week is coming to an end.. next up for the coming week, INDEPENDANCE @ GENTING HIGHLANDS! hopefully we can get a room so we dont have to drive back down after the event *fingers and toes crossed*.

The Brief Reunion Issue

today wasnt as boring as the previous days.. as usual, woke up and picked up xavie, kartini and santino and headed for our regular breakfast spot. santino wasnt too happy with where we were and was being ultra cranky. after having our brunch, we stopped by McDonald's to get santino some fries and nuggets (this boy is terribly picky with food and its difficult to stay mad at him). after that, we headed to damansara perdana to see a salesperson selling the metropolitan square units cos kartini was thinking of getting one. while kart was discussing with the salesperson, xavie and i babysat santino outside of the office and happily basked under the hot blazing sun cos santino was amused with stones and ants. fast forwarding, after the discussion was over, we headed for home. santino was going to be picked up by his grand aunt and xavie and kart were making preparations to meet up with jo ann who was arriving today from miri.

for those who are wondering who santino is, he's kartini's son and this is what the lil devil looks like and why its so hard to stay angry with him:

after i got home, i lazed around for a bit and had a chat with charmaine thru msn and guess what? SHE'S GOT A BLOG! boy, was i amused.. glad she actually took the time to make one. her blog is called EVERYDAYSTARSRUCKBOREDOM. she's still getting the hang of blogging so do be patient with her. we chatted and caught up with updates and what nots and exchanged some personal sentiments with each other. damn, i miss her.

after awhile, i got a call from alif and i found out that 2 of my high school friends, carolyn and suyin were back and we were gonna meet up so i went off to meet them. meeting up with them made me realised how much time has passed and how much different we are now compared to our schooling days. it was simply amazing. we exchanged numbers and plan to meet up again one of these days.

i'm still waiting for shai to call / sms me.. i miss him so much!! *sniff*

My Sad Wednesday

today started out alright.. feeling sad tho, since shai left for bali :(.. met up with steph and xavie as usual.. this time, we brought kartini and her son, santino out for lunch too.. had a great time at xavie's place just lepaking.. after that, came home and waited to meet up with 2 old friends that i've not seen in awhile - nani and sharm.

nani, sharm and i went to syed mamak and began catching up on old times and reminisce on the stupid things we used to do last year.. after much laughing, i headed home for dinner and met up with them again after my dinner.. sent sharm back and nani and i continued our catching up session at selera kampung restaurant. man, the amount of drinks we had to accompany us during our session and least to say, my bladder felt like bursting.. whilst having a drink with nani, SHAI CALLED! i was soooo thrilled!! i miss him soooooooo much! i've been sad the whole day thinking about him and how he isnt around with me for a week :(

after much manja-ing with shai, nani and i continued with our conversation for about another 2 hours.. mom kept calling me asking me to come home.. typical. not long after, naren (nani's bf) joined us and started talking summore. gosh i miss hanging out with nani. after our long yam char session, i made tracks for home..

god, i miss shai so much! wish he was here with me.. *sigh*

Wednesday, August 18, 2004

*sigh*

shai will be leaving for bali tomorrow and he'll be away for a week.. i hate to miss him whenever he goes for holidays.. tho a week, i bet its gonna be a LOOOOOONG week for me till he returns.. i also bet its gonna be one helluva long bitch week *grumble*

The Boredom's Bore Issue

god! today has just been an ultra slow one and nothing productive was done AT ALL! i felt my brains start to decompose as the day went on. after having a not-so-satisfying brunch with xavie, we headed back to my place. sent my bro's car for servicing and then walked back to my place. thank god its just down the road of my house. otherwise, i'd have to get someone to drive me up and down.

after sending the car, we lepaked with my mom downstairs while watching the discovery channel about spiders. that must've been the highlight of the day. surprisingly, we didnt yam char as much as we normally would. good for us then. this way, we can save LOADS of money.. not to mention cigarettes.

my semester officially begins this coming monday (23rd august) and it seems like i'll be hitting the books real soon. then again, that entire week will be used for orientation for the new students etc so no classes will be conducted. i'll just head to college to collect my timetable and head home. again, i'll disappear for a week before attending class officially on the 1st of september. no point of me going to class so soon beginning the 23rd when all we're gonna do is get to know your lecturers and new fellow victims :P

well, thats that for today. thank you for taking the time to bore yourselves with my garbage for today. :þ

i checked my mail and got a funny comic strip from my friend joanne, so i wanna share it with you guys. i think its hilarious!

*yawn* *stretch*

aaahhhh. just woke up hehe.. still feeling groggy and sleepy.. eyes can barely open.. hmm.. what do i have planned out for today? guess i'll go shower and get ready and go pick xavie up and then head for makan somewhere nearby.. we're really running out of places to eat. hopefully steph will give me a call once she's done with class then meet up with her too.

well, guess i'll go mandi now.

Sunday, August 15, 2004

wow.. its been a freaking long time since i last blogged.. well. been pretty occupied with nonsense and unimportant events LOL.. nevertheless, they were good for me.. i spent the weekend at my baby's place and i enjoyed myself.. watched akademi fantasia 2 finals and whee zahid won.. no biggie.. the concert was a really huge one tho... KL roads were pretty empty.. the concert lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes!! even mariah carey's concert wasnt that long! tsk tsk tsk

just watched the malaysian idol results show and 2 contestants were voted out, leaving 10 more participants. my personal opinion is, jac may very well be our first malaysian idol and she would make a good one..

nothing much has happened since wednesday.. just been hanging out with xavie and steph for a bit and i got my hair cut at peek-a-boo, in taman tun.. i still dont know what i'm gonna do with my new hair.. the hairstylist advised me to side part my hair and leave it for the next one month.. after that, i'll have to go back for another session.. dammit it isnt cheap man! sigh.. hopefully the money i'm paying will be put to good use and make me look like a superstar!! hahahhahhahaha!

Wacky Wednesday

finally, i got to meet up with our dear 8TV quickie host, adam. its been awhile since i last hung out with adam. first things first, the beginning of my day haha!

woke up 11ish and called up xavie to wake her up. steph called up too to tell me that she will be able to join us for lunch at 1 Utama. got ready and before i knew it, steph was at my place to pick me up. got ready and spent what seemed to be an eternity on my hair. i just got it cut yesterday and i cant seem to style it properly. after much hassle with my hair, we headed to saujana to pick xavie up and made our way to 1 Utama to meet up with dear ol' adam. we arrived late due to the damn lunch-hour jam. to make matters worst, a P driver was in front of us while we were queing up to park at the rooftop of 1 Utama's old wing. here was what went wrong:

1) overloading with friends whom he would like to impress with his newly obtained P license (oh, joy!)
2) stopped vehicle too far from arm's reach at the ticket dispenser.
3) driving a manual car (not that this is a problem but do learn to drive it correctly)
4) balancing skill wasnt good and stalled his car many times on the ramp leading up to the roof top carpark.

so, once that was settled and having them gotten out of our way, we made our way up to park. met adam at the secret recipe at the new wing. had our lunch and decided that we would head over to his place to check it out. adam, i must say, for a bachelor pad, very neat! *two thumbs up*

later on at his place, he tells me that his room mate, josh will be coming over. guess what? josh and i knew each other like years ago and havent seen each other since. to make the world smaller, steph knew josh too from a party or something. sigh, its a small world after all.

adam showed me his super-duper computer that makes coffee (haha! just kidding). i was introduced to this game called unreal tournament and heck, adam and my bro can happily go head to head with this game and kill each other HAHAHA! i felt nice to be hanging out with adam again after all this while.

josh and i exchanged embarassing stories about each other while trying to vaguely recall our past years' conversations hehe. cool dude. he's grown up. =þ

hmm.. something interesting.. we found an 'Eh!' magazine at his place. now, this is a malay magazine and we highly doubted adam could read malay. then josh clued us in that he was in it. so we were like "Oh!". so, me being the nosey one, flipped throught the mag and there he was! adam was being interviewed by the mag bla bla bla. funny thing was, his responses were dubbed into malay and they mixed english words in malay sentences. i was laughing my ass off. no offence intended, dude! hehe.. u gotta admit.. it was funny =þ

after being a bunch of bodohs, we made tracks for home. steph dropped xavie and i home and the rest is history.

An Epic Tuesday

*yawn*

its been quite an epic day today (tuesday) and i'm pretty much pooped out. i should be getting some sleep right now but i thought i'd give u guys a holler before turning in. it was a pretty interesting day. hung out with xavie from 8am till 3:30pm. yam cha, yam cha, yam cha hehe. yup, we can really yam cha. met up with an old friend lydia that i've not seen in like a year or 2. had a blast laughing our asses off at a restaurant in One Utama whilst reminiscing on old times. quite embarassing actually hee hee. got home and slept for a bit. woke up and had dinner and before u knew it, i was out of the house again. went to pick steph up and headed to my cousin's place to check on him. he had to go for a minor surgery to remove a certain something from a certain somewhere LOL. after that, steph and i headed to jelutong to yam char (yes, again). i dropped her off and headed for home. shai came half an hour later to pick me up and off we went to syed bistro for supper. after having supper, shai dropped me home and i checked on my multiply homepage thingie. chatted a bit with shai and now i'm writing this entry. so thats the summary of my wonderful and fun day. :P

The Accurate Astrology Reading Issue

i found an unsually accurate astrology reading about my horoscope. got it off spelwerx. i'm a piscean. the following describes me very accurately:

Pisces,
Pisceans possess a gentle, patient, malleable nature. They have many generous qualities and are friendly, good natured, kind and compassionate, sensitive to the feelings of those around them, and respond with the utmost sympathy and tact to any suffering they encounter. They are deservedly popular with all kinds of people, partly because their easygoing, affectionate, submissive natures offer no threat or challenge to stronger and more exuberant characters. They accept the people around them and the circumstances in which they find themselves rather than trying to adapt them to suit themselves, and they patiently wait for problems to sort themselves out rather than take the initiative in solving them. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.

Their natures tend to be too otherworldly for the practical purposes of living in this world as it is. They sometimes exist emotionally rather than rationally, instinctively more than intellectually (depending on how they are aspected). They long to be recognized as greatly creative. They also dislike discipline and confinement. The nine-to-five life is not for them. Any rebellion they make against convention is personal, however, as they often times do not have the energy or motivation to battle against the Establishment.

Pisceans tend to withdraw into a dream world where their qualities can bring mental satisfaction and sometimes, fame and financial reward for they are extremely gifted artistically. They are also versatile and intuitive, have quick understanding, observe and listen well, and are receptive to new ideas and atmospheres. All these factors can combine to produce remarkable creativity in literature, music and art. They may count among their gifts mediumistic qualities which can give them a feeling that their best work comes from outside themselves, "Whispered beyond the misted curtains, screening this world from that." Even when they cannot express themselves creatively they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places.

They are never egotistical in their personal relationships and give more than they ask from their friends. They are sexually delicate, in the extreme almost asexual, and most Pisceans would want a relationship in which the partner's mind and spirit rather than the body resonated with their own. Unfortunately they can be easily misled by a lover who courts them delicately and in marriage makes them unhappy by a coarser sexuality than they expected. They are nevertheless intensely loyal and home-loving and will remain faithful.

In their employment they are better working either by themselves or in subordinate positions. Their talents are individual in a commercial business or similar undertaking. They would be afraid to manage more than a small department, worrying always that they would fail in a crisis. They can make fair secretaries and bookkeepers. Their sympathy equips them for work in charities catering for the needy, as nurses looking after the sick and as veterinary surgeons caring for animals. As librarians or astronomers they can satisfy their mental wanderlust, and their fondness for "faraway places with strange-sounding names" may turn them into sailors or travellers. Many architects and lawyers are Pisceans, and when the creative abilities are combined with gifts of imitation and the ability to enter into the feelings of others, Pisceans find their fulfillment on the stage. Their psychic and spiritual qualities can lead them into careers in the church or as mediums and mystics. They may find an outlet for their creativity as caterers, and are said to make good detectives because they can imagine themselves in the place of criminals and understand how their minds would work. In technical occupations they are well employed in dealing with anaesthetics, fluids, gases and plastics. Because of their lively versatility and inability to concentrate overmuch on any one project, Pisceans often simultaneously follow more than one occupation.

hey dudes.. sorry for the delayed update.. i'm pretty hooked to the new version of winamp. it can do many wonders. it even has a new interface and outlook. go download the latest version and see what i mean.

The Malaysian Idol (Pt IV) Issue

the malaysian idol wildcard results are out! competition was fierce and i'm very happy that the 2 people i hoped to get in got in! thank you, malaysia! apparently, its not opened for 2 places but 3. 1 hand picked by the judges and the other 2 picked by malaysians. here are the ones that got thru the wildcard:

1 2 3

1. nikki
2. sufiah
3. rydee

next week, THE TOP 12! i seriously hope that they'll have a live studio audience. its really pathetic to see the contestants sing to the cameras and no live audience to give them support. also, hopefully they'll bring in more musical instruments to accompany the songs.

catch the malaysian idol 'wildcard' result show tonight at 10pm, only on 8TV! i hope nikki and rydee make it thru to the next round. *fingers and toes crossed*

The Short Films Issue

just got back from a heavy lunch with shai. god, we ate so much, we could barely walk LOL.. i'd like to express my thanks to all my loyal readers haha! i never thought anyone would read my blog considering that it isnt as interesting as others'. not that i'm competing or anything, its just that i'd like to know that the amount of time spent making my blog is worth the effort :). again, thank you.

lets see, i didnt post an entry about what happened yesterday. well, shai and i wanted to go watch 3 short films at the film exhibition at the Balai Seni Lukis Negara (National Art Gallery). the films screened were Buka Api, Classroom and Malaikat Di Jendela. due to some unforeseen circumstances, we were late and the entire theater was full. so, we missed the first screening, Buka Api. as far as i know, Buka Api is a story about lives of transsexuals living in malaysia. its extemely controversial considering that society has yet to accept them as they are.

we finally got in before the start of the second screening, Classroom. after securing good positions to watch, they rolled the film. the film lasted for only 6 minutes but that 6 minutes was extemely educational and an eye-opener. it showed the brutality of the Khmer Rouge Communist regime in still shots. quite dark. after that ended, the screening of Malaikat Di Jendela started. i was impressed with this film and it is a proof that we malaysians are actually capable of producing such high quality films. it didnt have any of those cheesy bad lighting or bad music score. this film was done in a simple fashion but yet provided a strong impact on the viewers. Ning Baizura was the lead in this film and i never knew she could act so darn well! least to say, i have a different perspective of ning after watching this film. her acting is definitely 1st class! i enjoyed this film so much simply becos i felt the emotions that was meant to be projected. not many movies can do that these days.

i shall not go into too much details of the films as it wouldnt have the same effect by watching it. if any of you get the chance to watch it, please do. it could change your perspective of our local film makers.

please note that the films mentioned above were not publicly screened due to its controversies and moralities in question. for more information of the films, you can visit here.

here's the third and final part of my entry for my trip to tanjong jara:

Day 3 (Thursday, August 5, 2004)

this was the day that we would be leaving tanjong jara. we were supposed to be up by 9:30am but we were so pooped out the night before, we continued to sleep hehe. almost missed breakfast (breakfast ends at 11am). so, we got ready by 10:20am and hurried to the "Di Atas Sungei" again for one last time. had a hearty breakfast and went to the souvenir shop to see if we could buy some stuff for some friends. well, too bad, the items were really expensive. RM20 for a small pebble key-chain with the words "Tanjong Jara Resort" printed on it wasnt worth the money hehehe..

after checking out the souvenir shop, we headed back to the room to pack up our bags and freshened up. by 1pm, we checked out of the resort and made our back home to KL. that was pretty much how the trip went. very simple and no rush whatsoever. even the drive back home was a slow and smooth one. again, we got lost a few times but this time, we were more familiar with the roads and got ourselves back on track in no time.

i'd like to share one final picture to all. this is an interesting picture considering the fact that over here in KL, such a thing wouldnt be as huge. check it out:

notice how huge that sign board is? i was pretty shocked to see the size of it. so, there you have it again people, big sign boards, big dandelions and big waves. for those who enjoyed my entries about tanjong jara, you can go here to learn more.

catch malaysian idol 'the wild card' show tonight at 9:45pm only on 8TV.

The Tanjong Jara Trip (Pt II) Issue

here's my second installment for my trip to tanjong jara:

Day 2 (Wednesday, August 4, 2004)

woke up around 9:30am and got ready to head down to the "Di Atas Sungei" again for breakfast. this restaurant was the only one that served breakfast. the breakfast menu was pretty good. a good blend of local and western cuisine. this time, we sat on the terrace which, is above the man-made river.

the pics above were taken while we were having breakfast on the terrace. the terrace was built over a man-made river giving that exotic effect. as we were having breakfast, the sun broke through the trees and it was getting hot. after having about 4 servings, we decided to get changed and headed for the beach.

once we arrived, we both applied some sunblock lotion and ran towards the crashing waves. hell, the waves were HUGE and the current was extremely strong. i got dragged into the sea quite a few times and resistence was practically futile. the wind was strong and so was the sun. the sun blazed and scorched our sunblock covered skin. still, i could feel a bit of a burning sensation. nevertheless, the beach was a beauty to behold. the waters were blue, the sands were white. the entire place was simply paradise untainted. after getting swamped by the waves more than a hundred times, we decided to head for the resort's swimming pool where we could swim in clear water minus the salt. the pool was pretty deep. its depth was 1.60m - barely touching my chin. i had to tip toe to make sure i didnt drown LOL. yea, yea.. i'm just short. here are some pics:

after having a swim, we decided to grab some lunch at the "Nelayan" restaurant. this restaurant served light meals such as sandwiches and burgers. local dishes such as nasi goreng kampung and fried kuey teow were amongst the choices too. the restaurant was situated alongside the beach and had a great view of the surroundings. i had the nasi goreng kampung and to my dismay, it was filled with chopped bunga kantan. tasted somewhat like serai. un-appetizing. shai had the fried kuey teow but it was too spicy so i ate his order LOL. he then ordered chicken burger and that one tasted good. whilst having lunch, we noticed a dandelion gently floating in mid-air being blown by the salty sea-breeze. what was so great about this? it was HUGE! unlike our small, puny ass regular dandelions, this one was really big. about the size of a big duku langsat. no kidding. there you have it, big waves and big dandelions. the entire restaurant was open-air; meaning, no walls so guests will be constantly be cooled by the sea-breeze. awesome cooling effect.

after a nice lunch, we headed back to the room to nap for a bit. we were really pooped out from all the swimming and a heavy lunch.

after napping, we woke up around 7pm and got ready for dinner. again, dinner was being served the the "Nelayan". for dinner, we had barbecue by the beach. it was awesome and romantic as hell. it was basically a candle light dinner. not only was it a barbecue dinner by the beach, every table was serenaded by a duo. they moved from table to table playing songs requested by the guests. we requested for belaian jiwa and this dude could really sing. a guest requested for louise armstrong's song, 'what a wonderful world' and guess what? he could even imitate the husky voice! really talented. dinner was amazing and weather was cool with the wind blowing in our hair. here's how the area looked like:

after dinner, we walked around for a bit to savour the sights and sounds of nature. the entire resort was simply breath-taking and lovely. after much walk and getting pains in our sides due to overstuffing ourselves, we headed back to the room to rest and for me to catch the season finale of Charmed!! hahhhahaa! heck, its a 2 hour episode finale and i had to watch and thank god they had astro heheh. knocked out after that. sadly, we were leaving the next day.

that concludes part II of my trip. stay tuned for the third and final part of my wonderful holiday at tanjong jara. :)

The Tanjong Jara Trip (Pt I) Issue

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! its good to be back home although i'm already missing the beauty and tranquility of tanjong jara. for those who dont know, tanjong jara is located in terengganu; about 5-6 hours drive using the new highway.

Day 1 (Tuesday, August 3, 2004)

it was a pleasant and exciting journey using the new highway. for one thing, toll was totally FREE! hehe. furthermore, the highway was surrounded by nature's glory. hills, greenery and a magnificent sky blended harmoniously. here are some pics i took while travelling along the highway:

excuse the lil black dot on the top right corner of the pics. the lens was a lil fuzzy. after getting lost several times, we finally managed to locate the resort. it was secluded, indeed. tanjong jara resort's tagline was "unmistakably malay" and true to its words, the resort has fused the malay tradition into a modern setting. the roofs of the resort were crafted that of a malay palace - making the guests feel like royalties themselves. we were greeted by a cool and airy lobby with various plants and trees surrounding it. we arrived at the resort shortly after 7pm. here are some pics:

1. reception
2. waiting lounge
3. entrance
4. pond by the lobby

after waiting for about 10 minutes and gotten bitten by swarms of mosquitoes, we were finally shown to our room. the units were double-storeys. we got the upper level. i personally liked the upper level as opposed to the lower level cos it had the best view of the resort's surroundings. trees were abundant and they blended well with the resort's concept. when we stepped into our room, i was speechless at the uniqueness of the room. everything was wooden and lots of room space. lights set the perfect mood for a room and it didnt have those cheesy pendaflour lights. here's what our room looked like:

5 6
7 8

5. bedroom
6. bathroom
7. bathtub
8. stairs leading up to the room

needless to say, i fell in love with the setting and the mood it emits. after settling down for a bit, we freshened up and headed down to the "Di Atas Sungei" restaurant for dinner. this restaurants does not have a menu. instead, the have a menu master who goes around to each table to guide guests on what to order. trust me, she knows her stuff. we ordered sweet and sour fish, sze chuan fried squid with dried chilli, mixed vegetables and venison on hot plate. ofcourse, these dishes were accompanied by our staple food, steamed white rice. dinner was awesome and i couldnt believe how much i could eat. guess i was really hungry. after that scrumptious dinner, we had fried banana fritters with vanilla ice cream for desert. went back to the room and it didnt take long for us to knock out.

that, briefly concludes the first day of our trip. to be continued...

The Malaysian Idol (Pt III) Issue

the top 3 voted in to the next stage are the following:

1 2 3

1. jac
2. saipul
3. fahmy

i'm very glad that jac has made it thru to the next level. i personally feel that she's the best contestant of all 3 groups. she's the most competent to compete against fantasia barino at the world idol stage.

remember, malaysia, send the best to compete at an international level. vote for talent. the person competing at the world idol will be representing malaysia as a whole. as it is, our miss malaysia is going to embarrass us at the miss universe pageant. so, lets not make things worst for ourselves.

The Long Update Issue

wow! it has been 3 days since i last updated my blog and hell, a lot has happened.. lets recapture the days, shall we?

Friday night, July 30, 2004

got back from watching I, Robot. verdict: AWESOME SHOW!! Rating: 8/10. i really recommend this movie to everyone. my personal opinion is that, it rocked and had a lot of cool special effect. defintiely left me at the edge of my seat. after watching the movie, we (shai and i) headed for supper at dharoos for something to eat. after that, headed for home and snoooooooooooooze. konked out instantly.

Saturday, July 31, 2004

woke up early to have lunch with shai's sister, natasha and her friend, louise. went all the way to cyberjaya to have the peking duck (yes, again) at the xing zhu restaurant. unfortunately, we were too late as they were all out of ducks so, we ordered something else as substitute. food was great and weather wasnt too hot either. got back to pj and had to go to giant mall (the new one along the LDP) to do a bit of grocery shopping. that was my first time entering the place despite it being ready for many months and being so damn near where i live, LOL! bought some stuff for dinner. yup, i cooked dinner again and more pics! hahaah! here were the dishes that i cooked:

1 2
3

1. potato and chicken in dark gravy
2. watercress soup
3. omelette with onions

after having that delightful and fantastic dinner, we watched akademi fantasia 2 to see the drama and ofcourse, criticize all the participants hahaha! comparisons were made between AF and malaysian idol. linda, one of the participants was voted out the competition leaving 1 more participant to be voted out before the top 5 finals. after watching AF, we freshened up and headed for genting for the salem revelation rave at first world hotel. by this time, i was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. we drove all the way up and to our dismay, all tickes were sold out, leaving hundreds of ravers standing outside the entrance. weather was at its exteme and the wind was ofcourse, not helping. after much venting of frustration, we headed back down for KL.
by the time we got home, it was already 3 something in the morning and both of us were pooped out.

Sunday, August 1, 2004

woke up and cleaned up the house. parents were returning today. went for banana leaf lunch at sri devi (an indian cuisine restaurant near the FAM stadium). after the heavy lunch, shai dropped me home and he too, headed for home. did more cleaning up and disposed all cigarette butts and made sure no lingering smoke smell was to be sniffed out. tried to take a nap but then decided to meet up with alif at syed restaurant for a drink while i develop some photos. after that, i returned home to get ready for shai to come pick me up. we were going to istana budaya for the keroncong perdana concert. it was interesting and the music and acoustics were really good. zarina, a participant who got voted off Akademi Fantasia 2 weeks back performed 2 songs for this concert. various artists - old and young performed at this auspicious event. concert lasted for about 2 hours. after the concert, shai and i headed for supper/dinner at the concorde hotel. cool supper buffet at really reasonable prices. had our fill and by that time, both of us were tired out. got back home and slept like a baby.

and now, finally, TODAY! phew, that was a major update for 3 days. woke up at 11am today and got ready to go for brunch with steph. xavie's in cherating and has extended another day of her stay there. steph and i had a really good time chatting and had a fun time making her understand my twisted family ahhaahha! fun, nevertheless.

after having a wonderful time with her, i headed for home and had a nap. again, had a weird and horrifying dream about a house, flood and a fucked up looking puppet that crawls on the floor by itself. setting was dark and dim as usual. people i knew were in the dream as well. i remember we were singing "amazing grace" in the dream. the fucked up puppet started crawl on the floor and all of us got freaked out. we were all trapped in this particular house and we just couldnt leave the place. anyways, enough of this fucked up shit. i shall not go into details cos it will disturb my mind. had dinner, showered and watched some tv. eu jin, my cousin, came over to have a few ciggies with me and that brings us back to now. hehehe.

tomorrow, my baby and i will be off to our romantic getaway (grin) in tanjung jara, terengganu for 3 days. visit the link to know more. so, i wont be able to upate you guys for another 3 days. when i do get back, i'll post pics for you guys to view. hopefully, i get really nice shots of the sunset. ooooo cant wait! dont think i can sleep tonight. *excited*

well, then. i'll leave you now. see you guys in 3 days. cheerios!
